Biden acts on gun control after shootings in South Carolina, Texas
00:58

U.S. President Joe Biden on Thursday announced executive orders introducing limited measures towards gun control after two shootings in South Carolina and Texas left multiple people dead. In South Carolina, the father of a former American football player said his son fatally shot five people and injured another before taking his own life. In a separate shooting incident in Texas, a gunman killed one person and wounded six others at a cabinet-making business where he worked. During a speech at the White House, Biden hit back at opponents of gun control who say it violates the Second Amendment of the country's constitution.
