China on Friday reiterated its stance on relations with the U.S., stressing non-conflict, non-confrontation, mutual respect and win-win cooperation between the two countries.
Zhao Lijian, a spokesperson from the Chinese Foreign Ministry, made the remarks after leaders of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee introduced a China-related legislation on Thursday.
The 280-page draft measure, titled the "Strategic Competition Act of 2021," mandates diplomatic and strategic initiatives to counteract Beijing.
Zhao called on the politicians to treat China and China-U.S. ties objectively and rationally, and stop the progress of the legislation.
