China's efforts to eradicate extreme poverty and its contribution to global poverty alleviation show that the country is playing an active role in the global fight against poverty. A white paper released on Tuesday said the Belt and Road Initiative could help 7.6 million people out of extreme poverty globally. Liu Zhiqin, senior fellow at Chongyang Institute of Finance at Renmin University, shares with us his insights. He says that different countries should have different poverty reduction approaches and China's success will boost other countries' confidence in poverty reduction.
