Over the past several years, Hainan Province has welcomed a growing number of visitors and has garnered the reputation of being a tourist hub. Yet, the island’s marine ecosystem has remained a key focus.

Scuba diving is one of many water activities that tourists can enjoy off the coast of Sanya. Marine biologists are also using it to study coral reefs, carry out coral propagation, protection, and further scientific studies.
