Sixteen countries including the U.S., Canada, France, Belgium and Italy will be added to the Republic of Ireland's mandatory hotel quarantine list, according to local media.
Starting next week, travelers from these countries are required to spend 12 nights and pay at least 1,875 euros (about $2,230) to stay at one of 24 hotels designated by the country.
The Irish government has now identified 59 "high risk" countries.
The measure will come into effect from 4 a.m. local time on April 15.
