A scroll painting depicting the 2,500-year history of China's Grand Canal debuted at the National Museum of China on April 10, 2021. The 135-meter-long, 3-meter-wide painting showcased the various landscapes along the Grand Canal, which bypasses eight municipalities and provinces and links Beijing in the north to Zhejiang Province in east China. 15 Chinese artists completed the massive art project that started in 2018.
The Grand Canal is one of the world's longest and oldest canals. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014.
