Starting from March 27, Qinghai Lake, the largest lake in China, has shown signs of thawing. Qinghai Lake sits on the northeastern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Ninety percent of the lake has thawed as of April 7. Between March 24 and 30, the average highest temperature around the lake was between 7.36 Celsius and 13.26 Celsius. The gales also reached a high speed of 13.3 meters per second. Higher temperatures and stronger wind are the main reasons for the fast thawing process.
