China defeated South Korea 2-1 in the first-leg away game on April 8, acquiring a decent advantage in the two-leg competition. The second match will happen at home for China in Suzhou, east China's Jiangsu Province on Tuesday.

Jia Xiuquan, manager of the Chinese national team, attended the pregame press conference on Monday.

"All of our players are in great form after returning home," said Jia. "We have been preparing everything according to the plan and have been training to the point. We will try to win the coming game by exploiting our advantage in our way. It's the competition of will and tactics on the field."

The Chinese national team have held all four of their past training camps in Suzhou and they can't be any more familiar with the local conditions. Suzhou has already entered wet season. It has rained a lot but did not keep the team from completing their outfield practice sessions.

"It won't be a contact battle this time," said Jia. "Before the first-leg game, neither side had played for over a year and barely knew each other. Now we have no secrets anymore so the second-leg game can be more difficult. I told my players to forget about the first game and work harder in the second one."

"Now they are all calm and collected. Everyone wants to go to the Olympics, release their energy and show the best of themselves in the game. Everyone is in good shape too. Generally speaking, I think we are ready."

As the coronavirus is still out there, hosting sports competitions against foreign teams is a test to the COVID-19 protocols to any country. Jia is confident in China's work in this field. "There's not much difference in the COVID-19 protocols of China and South Korea. People's life comes first and both countries follow that rule.”

"I hope there will be more fans, more footballers and more media outlets cheering the women's team, whether they are watching the game in the stadium or not. Everyone wants the team to make the Tokyo Olympics," said Jia.
