The Beijing Office of the China Securities Regulatory Commission has fined LeEco founder Jia Yueting 241 million yuan ($36.8 million), the company said in a statement on Monday.

The fine is in addition to the company's fine of 240 million yuan for financial fraud from 2007 to 2016. The company was fined 240 million yuan after a securities regulator investigation into suspected IPO fraud there in September last year.

Le.com, an online video portal under parent group LeEco, made its debut on China's NASDAQ-style board, ChiNext, in August 2010. But it was delisted from the Shenzhen bourse in May last year after registering an annual loss for three consecutive financial years.

Jia once made Le.com immensely popular in China by offering viewers a large number of free or cheap movies and dramas on its website. The company later expanded into making phones, TVs and even electric cars, which incurred heavy debt.
