Sanyuesan Festival, also known as March 3 Festival, is one of the biggest celebrations of the year for many ethnic minorities in China. Literally, san yue san refers to the 3rd day of the third month on the Chinese lunar calendar. People celebrate this occasion with various activities, such as traditional folk dancing and singing. Local cuisines, especially rice-based dishes, are also part of the celebrations.
The fifth edition of a Sanyuesan event is being organized in Qinzhou City, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The city's Qinbei District is home to 330,000 Zhuang people, making up 38 percent of the local population. Join CGTN's crew in its special series "Tides of Change" in Qinzhou to celebrate this traditional festival with the local people.
