As a public welfare lawyer with the Ningxia Women's Federation since 2005, Bao Wenjing has provided free legal aid to vulnerable groups. She helps victims of domestic violence get out of their misery as well as women who were dismissed during pregnancy to return to their jobs and seeks justice for sexually abused children.
"From an economic point of view, I am not a successful lawyer," she says. "But I am proud that ordinary people mention that I all know,'Oh, lawyer Bao, a lawyer who brings a lawsuit for free.'"
"If defined from a financial point of view, I am certainly not a successful lawyer, but from the view of doing pubic welfare for the society, I think I am successful. Because people know when you mention my name, Oh, Bao, the lawyer who doesn't charge."
This is Bao's story.
