In some of their recent pieces the New York Times groundlessly alleged the Chinese government's effort to get people vaccinated as "coercive," and a prosperous Uygur society in Xinjiang as "minority repression." Intensifying ideological conflicts and criticizing China can probably gain eyeballs but are certainly not the ways to solve the problems of precariously deepening inequalities and widespread social unrest in America.
