The United States is set to announce a full troops draw-down from Afghanistan by September 11 this year. White House press secretary said President Joe Biden would make the announcement on Wednesday. The U.S. had previously made a deal with the Taliban to pull U.S. troops from the war-torn country by May 1. Biden says the four-month delay is due to tactical reasons, while some U.S. experts claim logistical concerns for the delay. The U.S. has about 2,500 troops and over 1,000 special forces stationed in Afghanistan. The new deadline marks the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks to the United States, which eventually caused the American-led invasion of Afghanistan.
