Infrared cameras installed at the Golden Summit, the peak of Mount Emei in southwest China's Sichuan Province, have captured footage of rare wild animal species, such as the red panda, the northern goshawk and the Temminck's tragopan. They are all under second-class state protection in China.
Mount Emei covers an area of 154 square kilometers, with a 94 percent forest coverage. The images taken by the cameras will contribute to the local efforts for wildlife protection.
