Chinese mainland reports 10 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland recorded 10 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, all from overseas, data from the National Health Commission (NHC) showed on Thursday.

Southwest China's Yunnan Province, which had seen a resurgence of new locally-transmitted COVID-19 cases since late March, reported no new confirmed cases on Wednesday, according to the provincial health commission on Thursday.

No more deaths related to COVID-19 were reported on Wednesday, the NHC said.

Fifteen new asymptomatic cases were recorded the same day, while 300 asymptomatic patients are under medical observation.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 90,457, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region are as follows:

Hong Kong: 11,612 (11,237 recoveries, 209 deaths)

Macao: 49 (48 recoveries)

Taiwan: 1,067 (1029 recoveries, 11 deaths)
