Greece has suspended the vaccination campaign with the coronavirus vaccine developed by U.S. drugmaker Johnson & Johnson out of safety concerns, an official for the country's health ministry told media on Friday.

The latest move came after administration of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine was paused in several countries because of reports of rare cases of potentially fatal blood clots.

The one-shot coronavirus vaccination campaign was originally scheduled to begin in Greece on April 19.
