China and the U.S. issued a joint statement on tackling the climate crisis on Sunday. It was issued after talks in Shanghai between Xie Zhenhua, China's special envoy for climate change affairs, and U.S. Climate Envoy John Kerry. Under the statement, the two nations will work together to strengthen the implementation of the Paris Agreement, keeping the global average temperature increase below 2 degrees Celsius.
