Former Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh tested positive for COVID-19 and was admitted to the AIIMS Trauma Center in Delhi, local media reported on Monday. 

Singh served as Indian prime minister between 2004 and 2014. 

Prior to the report of his diagnosis, the former PM wrote to his successor Narendra Modi on Sunday regarding the COVID-19 crisis and put forward five suggestions for dealing with the pandemic. India is currently facing another surge in cases of the coronavirus.
