The Indian government announced that all people aged 18 years and over are eligible to get vaccinated against COVID-19 from May 1 as the country laid out a new vaccination strategy in light of new surge of cases. 

Vaccine manufacturers will need to supply 50 percent of doses to the federal government and the rest to state governments and the open market at a pre-declared price, the government said.
