On the night of April 18, a steppe fire fire that started in eastern Mongolian province of Sukhbaatar spread to China. The fire developed rapidly after nightfall. By 11:30 a.m. on April 19, all open fires on the Mongolian steppe had been extinguished, according to the provincial emergency management department.
