Commentator: Washington looking for scapegoat for falling behind in terms of competitiveness

American lawmakers are intensifying their efforts to counter China. A Senate committee has overwhelmingly passed the draft Strategic Competition Act, which takes aims at China on multiple fronts. For more analysis, CGTN's Global Watch talked to current affairs commentator Einar Tangen. He said Washington is looking for scapegoat, and the congress is not interested in pointing to themselves for falling behind in terms of competitiveness. He said the U.S. talked about threats from China, but those threats are not true, this is just a smear campaign.
