Israel and Syria exchanged missile strikes on Thursday, according to media reports.
Israeli army radio first reported a blast near Dimona nuclear facility caused by a Syrian anti-aircraft missile, which it said overflew its target.
In retaliation, Israel then attacked missile batteries in Syria, Israeli military said.
Syria's state news agency reported that Syrian air defenses intercepted an Israeli attack in the direction of the Golan Heights.
The attack took place at around 1:38 a.m. local time and targeted areas in the Damascus suburbs, the agency said.
"Air defenses intercepted the rockets and downed most of them," it said.
