Israel said it attacked several missile batteries in Syria in response to a missile assault by its neighbor. A Syrian missile exploded in southern Israel on Thursday, setting off air raid sirens near a key nuclear reactor. There were no immediate reports of any injuries or damage in Israel. The Syrian state media said the country's defense forces downed most of the Israeli rockets, but four soldiers were wounded.
