CGTN

Flames have been put out and no casualties were reported as of 1:00 p.m. Monday after six days of concerted efforts from firefighters and local rescue teams in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture in southwest China's Sichuan Province.

The blaze broke out at around 4:30 p.m. local time on Tuesday in Ma'an Village, a mountainous area of the prefecture's Mianning County.

Sporadic forest fires have occurred in the region since March due to higher than average temperatures and declining rainfalls compared with the same period last year.
