Lava gushes from the Pacaya volcano, 25 kilometers south of Guatemala's capital, after it reactivated, raising fears it may spread to nearby communities. The current eruption is effusive, meaning that it releases lava to the ground as opposed to an explosive eruption, with violent expulsions of smoke and ash.
