The Maolan National Nature Reserve (Maolan Karst Forest) in Libo County in southwest China's Guizhou Province features typical karst landforms with peaks and valleys that give rise to funnel-like forests wedged between mountains.

Karst landform is created by the dissolution of soluble rock (mostly limestones) by water. These features are widely distributed in China, such as in southern Guangxi, southwestern Yunnan and other places. Guizhou is known of its humid climate and many mountains, making it difficult for the fog to dissipate. Feast your eyes on these spectacular photos of karst forests.
