M6.6 quake hits Japan's Miyagi Prefecture, no tsunami warning issued: JMA

A magnitude-6.6 earthquake struck off the coast of Japan's Miyagi Prefecture on Saturday, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA).

The temblor occurred at 10:27 a.m. local time (0127 GMT) at a depth of 60 kilometers, the JMA said. No tsunami warning was issued for the quake.

There were no immediate reports of damages or casualties.
