Along China's Expressways: Shanghai-Chongqing route helps beat extreme poverty

China's expressway network is largely made up of five routes running north and south, and another seven that go between east and west. One of the east-west lines – the Hu-Yu Expressway – connects the city of Shanghai to Chongqing in southwest China. CGTN reporter Chen Tong in Shanghai shared more with us. He said the Shanghai-Chongqing route has lifted people in mountainous areas out of extreme poverty, and it has created more job opportunities for locals.
