At least nine people were killed and 14 others injured in a fuel tanker fire in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan on Saturday night, Tolo News TV reported, citing a source from the Ministry of Interior on Sunday.
The fire started at a fuel station in the Qala-e-Murad Bek area along the main highway that connects Kabul with northern provinces, said the Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Arian.
Dozens of fuel tankers, trucks and other vehicles were burnt, according to the report.
Rescue work is underway. The reason behind the incident is not yet clear.
