In a move to prevent a coronavirus surge, Russian authorities have initiated a non-working 10-day period. The initiative was proposed by Russia's health agency and supported by President Vladimir Putin on April 24. The initiative gives Russians four extra days off work except May 1, when Russians mark Labor Day, and May 9, when the country celebrates its victory in World War II.
