Finance leaders in China, South Korea and Japan to help economies hurt by pandemic
Finance ministers and central bank governors from China, Japan and South Korea vowed on Monday to strengthen cooperation. They committed to provide necessary support by providing "targeted" measures to economies hurt by the COVID-19 pandemic after a virtual meeting on the sidelines of the Asian Development Bank's annual meetings. Officials have pledged to "achieve inclusive recovery, preserve long-term fiscal sustainability and maintain financial stability." They said regional outlook has improved, and will explore new initiatives to strengthen the ASEAN Plus Three regional financial safety net.
