The people of the Dong ethnic minority in China's Guizhou Province use a "block the way" drink to show their respect to guests. When important guests visit, the entire village welcomes them at the village entrance. They block the village entrance with bowls filled with homemade rice wine. 

The Guizhou long-table banquet is a solemn custom. When important guests visit the village, in order to avoid being unable to visit each family due to a short stay, the Dong people will prepare a long table and bring out rice wine, salted fish and meat, and serve their guests.
