India has posted 382,315 new COVID-19 cases and 3,780 new deaths, health ministry data showed on Wednesday.
This is the second consecutive week that the country has recorded over 300,000 daily new cases.
The country's total cases number over 20.6 million, and the death toll is over 226,000.
According to a World Health Organization report on Wednesday, India accounted for nearly half of the COVID-19 cases reported worldwide last week and one in four deaths.
"India accounts for over 90 percent of both cases and deaths in the region, as well as 46 percent of global cases and 25 percent of global deaths reported in the past week," the Geneva-based agency said in its weekly epidemiological report.
