Millions of butterflies to emerge from cocoons in SW China

Countless butterflies belonging to over 320 species are emerging from their cocoons in the Butterfly Valley in southwest China's Yunnan Province. Due to relatively high temperatures last year, this crop of butterflies would have matured much faster. Officials expect the nectar-feeding insects to leave their cocoons five days earlier than in previous years. They also say it will be the largest kaleidoscope of butterflies to arise in ten years. From May to June every year, millions of newly hatched butterflies can be seen in the valley.
