A 51-year-old cotton grower named Zhang Hongyuan from northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has gone viral on the internet, as he sets his stage on a cotton field stretching for several square kilometers.

As the planting process becomes more mechanized, Zhang has more time to pursue his dream for music. In order to better practice playing the drums and not bother his neighbors, Zhang moved his drum kit to the cotton fields. Now Zhang has developed his own performance style, and started to write songs about his love for his hometown.
