Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Wednesday that China and Kazakhstan should continue to advance their Belt and Road Initiative cooperation and other cooperative projects in the post-pandemic era.

Wang made the remarks as he met with visiting Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tleuberdi for the second China plus Central Asia (C+C5) foreign ministers' meeting in Xi'an, capital city of northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

Wang said that the two countries should also actively facilitate the strategic coordination of China's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) and Kazakhstan's 2025 Development Plan for deeper and more diversified cooperation between the two countries.

The Chinese foreign minister said that China is willing to carry out key cooperative projects regarding production capacity, and help Kazakhstan diversify its economic structure and build a modernized national economic system.

The two sides should elevate their level of interconnectivity and explore new growth points in the fields including 5G, the big data, artificial intelligence, digital economy as well as new energy.

For his part, Tleuberdi said that Kazakhstan is dedicated to developing the permanent Kazakhstan-China comprehensive strategic partnership.

Kazakhstan hopes that the two countries can sign their trade and economic cooperation plan as soon as possible, deepening their cooperation in terms of interconnectivity, production capacity and investment, he added.
