U.S. consumer prices leap 4.2% in April

The U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) grew by 4.2 percent year-on-year in April, the largest increase since the global financial crisis in 2008, the U.S. Department of Labor announced on Wednesday.   

The April CPI jumped 0.8 percent from the previous month, the Department of Labor said.
