China will extend some of its pro-employment policies until the end of this year, further facilitate flexible employment and increase financial support for sectors that continue to be impacted by the COVID-19, according to a State Council executive meeting chaired by Premier Li Keqiang on Wednesday.

Pressure on employment is still high this year, and the country will continue to give priority to employment and support the employment of market entities, especially small-, medium- and micro-enterprises, the meeting said.

It will increase policy support for entrepreneurship, carry out secured loans and interest discounts for entrepreneurship, and promote self-employment and entrepreneurship of college graduates, according to the meeting.

The country will also increase financial support for enterprises in industries that are continuously affected by the COVID-19, the meeting said.

It will guide civil aviation enterprises and financial institutions to make good use of emergency loan policies, and strengthen targeted financial services for cultural and tourism companies as well as offline retail, accommodation, transportation and other industries that are largely affected by the COVID-19.

China will further improve financial services for small- and micro-enterprises, and support the issuance of special financial bonds that are no less than 300 billion yuan ($46.5 billion) for them, according to the meeting.

The meeting also passed a draft regulation on the management of earthquake protection for construction projects.
