Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday paid a visit to people who were relocated for the country's mega water diversion project on the second day of his trip in Nanyang, central China's Henan Province, and expressed gratitude to the residents for their contribution to the national project. China's South-North Water Transfer Project is a mega infrastructure project designed to channel over 40 billion cubic meters of fresh water annually from the Yangtze River to the northern regions.
