The Chinese mainland reported five locally transmitted COVID-19 cases on Friday, three in east China's Anhui Province and two in northeast China's Liaoning Province, data from the National Health Commission showed on Saturday.

Nine cases from overseas were also reported on Friday. No new deaths related to COVID-19 were reported on Friday, the NHC said.

Twenty-five new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 341 asymptomatic patients are under medical observation.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland stands at 90,829, with the death toll remaining at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 11,818 (11,516 recoveries, 210 deaths)

Macao: 49 (49 recoveries)

Taiwan: 1,290 (1,107 recoveries, 12 deaths)
