The largest nuclear cooperation project between Russia and China was launched Wednesday, including building new units at two major Chinese power plants in Jiangsu and Liaoning provinces. Dr Shen Yiyang, director of the Inclusive Development Research Center, shared his insights with CGTN via Skype, saying four new reactors will be built at two nuclear plants in China with Russian technology. The possibility of core melt accidents is further reduced in the third-generation nuclear reactors, Shen noted.
