When a marriage must come to an end due to irreconcilable differences, a divorce will be filed. China has seen a record drop of 72 percent in its divorce rate in the first quarter of this year compared to 2019. The decline coincides with the implementation of a cooling-off period which requires couples to wait 30 days before they formalize their divorce.
