China has issued a white paper on the peaceful liberation of the Tibet Autonomous Region and its development over the past seven decades. This year marks the 70th anniversary of Tibet's peaceful liberation. The white paper, titled "Tibet Since 1951: Liberation, Development and Prosperity," reviews Tibet's history and achievements, and presents a panoramic picture of the new socialist Tibet. The document says it will help to counter the rumors spread by a number of Western countries and their allies, and provide the international community with a balanced account of the transformation that has taken place in Tibet.
