The Chinese mainland recorded 24 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Thursday, all from overseas, data from the National Health Commission (NHC) showed on Friday.  

No deaths linked to the virus were logged on the day, the NHC said.

Twenty-five new asymptomatic cases were recorded, with 364 asymptomatic patients under medical observation.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland stands at 90,944, with the death toll remaining at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 11,828 (11,542 recoveries, 210 deaths)

Macao: 50 (49 recoveries)

Taiwan: 2,825 (1,133 recoveries, 15 deaths)
