Some of the COVID-19 patients in India are also suffering from a potentially deadly "black fungus" infection. Local media said over 7,200 cases of "black fungus" have been found across the country. The disease, which is called mucormycosis and has a high mortality rate, is affecting increasing numbers of India's coronavirus patients. It can cause blurred or double vision, chest pain and breathing difficulties. And doctors have often removed an eye or part of the jaw to try to stop it from spreading. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the country had to take precautions and prepare to deal with it. For analysis, CGTN's Global Watch spoke to Dr. Alice Hyun-Kyung Tan, an internist at MizMedi Women's Hospital in Seoul. She said mucormycosis is a rare but very dangerous disease.
