Separate quakes rattle Yunnan and Qinghai provinces
02:25

China said it's allocating over 10 million yuan from its central budget for disaster relief. Search and rescue efforts are underway after earthquakes hit the southwestern province of Yunnan and Qinghai in the northwest. In Yunnan, at least three people were killed, and dozens injured, near the popular tourist destination of Dali. In Qinghai, a magnitude-7.4 earthquake struck a sparsely-populated area early Saturday. Thirteen people were injured. It's said to be the strongest tremor in China in over a decade. The separate earthquakes have damaged bridges, roads and highways, including one connecting Qinghai with Yunnan further south.
