China's Taiwan on Tuesday reported 281 new local COVID-19 cases as the region continues to be hit by a fresh wave of infections.
Local authorities on Tuesday also added 261 cases to the region's total for days over the past week or so, as it continues to readjust its infection numbers following delays in reporting positive tests.
Meanwhile, the time period of COVID-19 restrictions in Taiwan has been extended until June 14 in a bid to rein in the spread.
