This is one for you meat lovers! Our hosts Tianran He and Eva May, are having mutton hotpot at Jubaoyuan, a butchery-turned-restaurant offering the choicest cuts of lamb and beef in town.

Mutton hotpot is a Beijing specialty where razor-thin slices of raw mutton are dipped into a boiling broth inside a coal-fired copper stove. The tender meat gets instantly cooked, which is then dipped into sesame paste before being eaten. It's juicy, nutty, packed with umami, and absolutely delicious!
