Four people – three men and one woman, were shot and killed at an apartment building in Ohio on Monday afternoon in Madison County in the latest shooting event in the U.S. state of Ohio in days.
According to local police Chief Christopher Floyd that three victims were found in the apartment and one outside.
The four were named on Tuesday while no suspects have been identified so far. Floyd said he doesn't believe the event was a drive-by shooting and an investigation is ongoing.
On May 23, two other shootings were also reported in two cities in the state.
At least three people were killed and three others were wounded in a shooting outside a bar in Ohio's Youngstown while one teen girl killed and five others were wounded in a shooting in Downtown Columbus Bicentennial Park.
The year-long surge in gun murders across the United States has shown no sign of easing as COVID-19 lockdowns end.
In Louisiana state, two masked men opened fire on employees on Tuesday after parking their car at the restaurant IHOP, killing one staffer while injuring another. Local police said they were hunting for the two men.
According to an AFP report, the U.S. is well on track to top last year's more than 20,000 murders, the highest level since 1995, as experts predicted.
