At least five people were reportedly killed after a powerful cyclone hit West in Bengal and Odisha, eastern India on Wednesday. Heavy rain and a high tide flooded coastal areas in the region, damaging thousands of homes. The local authorities have suspended COVID-19 testing and vaccinations in the three districts in the storm's path.
